Dr. Phillip Wilkinson is proud to call Morris, Illinois his hometown. As a youth, Dr. Wilkinson was very active in sports, including basketball, baseball and football. Some of his fondest memories at Morris Community High School were spent on the football field, where he served as a captain for the Redskins.
He attended Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois for the chance to continue playing football at the collegiate level. While at the liberal arts college, he studied biology and chemistry in preparation for a career in Chiropractic.
After graduating from IC with a Bachelor of Science, Dr. Wilkinson moved to the Quad Cities to attend the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Palmer offers a 5 year comprehensive education requiring 300 hours of coursework leading to a doctorate of Chiropractic. The College is the birthplace of Chiropractic, and is referred to as the “fountainhead” of the profession. Palmer has traditionally taken a holistic approach to healthcare, focusing on the body’s natural ability to heal itself from within, without the use medication.
At Palmer, Dr. Wilkinson learned specific and effective forms of adjusting the spine and extremities in order to allow the body to function at its maximum capacity. He utilizes this approach in his practice, applying the least invasive forms of care possible to allow the body to heal itself, from the inside-out.
Since earning his doctorate of Chiropractic, Dr. Wilkinson has completed post-doctorate studies in extremity adjusting, earning the distinction of being one of only 900 Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioners (CCEP) in the world. He has also completed coursework and examinations to become a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner, sponsored by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians.
In 2009, Dr. Wilkinson returned to his hometown to open a practice within the office of Willareth Clinic of Chiropractic. In November 2014, he moved the practice to his own location at 115 E. Waverly Street.
Dr. Wilkinson currently resides in Morris with his wife Julie, son Wyatt and bulldog JJ. When not at work, Dr. Wilkinson enjoys camping, fishing, and catching local high school sporting events.
