LICENSED MASSAGE THERAPIST
Meet Patty DiNovo, Licensed Massage Therapist
I graduated from Cortiva Institute in 2011 and specialize in Therapeutic Swedish Massage. My approach focuses on promoting relaxation, reducing stress, and relieving muscle tension by addressing specific areas of concern. Each session is customized to meet the needs of the client with the goal of providing both deep relaxation and lasting relief. To enhance the experience, I often incorporate hot stones to melt away your stress and tension and deepen the relaxation.

Therapeutic Swedish massage is a full-body, hands-on relaxation massage that uses long, gliding strokes, kneading, and friction to warm up muscles, increase blood circulation, and release tension. It is known for reducing stress, improving flexibility, and promoting overall well-being by helping to release toxins and relax the body. Unlike a purely relaxation-focused massage, "therapeutic" Swedish massage might be more specifically tailored to address a client's particular needs or a specific area of tightness, while still using the classic Swedish techniques.
Key techniques
-
Effleurage: Long, gliding strokes used at the beginning and end of a massage to warm up the muscles and help the client get used to the therapist's touch.
-
Kneading: A technique that involves lifting, rolling, and squeezing the muscles.
-
Friction: Rubbing and compressing the body to warm up tissues.
-
Vibration: Rhythmic shaking or vibrating of the body to release tension.
-
Passive joint movements: Gently moving the client's joints through their range of motion.
Benefits
-
Increases circulation: Helps the blood flow toward the heart, increasing oxygen to the muscles and organs.
-
Releases tension: Relieves muscle soreness and loosens up tense areas.
-
Improves flexibility: Helps stretch ligaments and tendons, improving joint range of motion.
-
Reduces stress: Lowers the body's stress levels and promotes relaxation, which can improve sleep quality.
-
Aids in recovery: Helps reduce recovery time from muscular strain.
